The Hammies short is an old short for a new generation. This short style was popularized in the 1970s in Southern California and for a decade it was the staple of skateboarders, surfers, rollerskaters, camp counselors, Tom Selleck, and many more. In the mid-1980s, shorts got longer and pants got baggier and for the proceeding 3 decades, the shorts were forgotten (a period also known as The Shorts Dark Ages). Fast-forward to 2017: Hammies has revived the once forgotten shorts in all of their primary-colored and wide-waled corduroy glory and once again, all was right with the world.
In short, the Hammies short is a homage to a time when shorts were shorter, fuzzier, and more colorful. These are your mom's shorts!

Really cute and well made
Fits like a dream, love the color
These do not fit right. Squeeze my thighs and flatten my butt although the waist fits fine, just made for skinny people. Not sure how they got that model to fit in them because this girl does not.
These shorts are both flexible and form fitting. Easy to climb rocks in, or sprawl at a picnic without my crotch exposed. Good coverage for fairly short shorts. I measured myself and bought a 36”, which fits, but then got the 34” and they are just right. Same for the women’s bell bottoms- my body measurements say 36 but I ordered 34s and they fit great.
I am a fit 5'0", about 127lbs, and while I am on the smaller side overall, I have thick thighs and a booty. Being short, I prefer a 2.5" inseam because it elongates my legs. It is a STRUGGLE to find shorts that don't end up being uncomfortable or down right inappropriate that fit that bill; These shorts absolutely WOWed me when I put them on. The material is sturdy but also fun to touch, and the elastic band makes them supremely comfortable.
I have been looking at these shorts for over a year and finally pulled the trigger - If you're thinking about it, don't anymore. Do it. You'll be thrilled.
They’re a little tight but they’re sooo cute! Wanted them for a couple years and when I saw they were on sale I had to have em! They’re adorable!

i like the material and cut of the shorts however the pleating in the back of the pants near the elastic is ill fitting and sits awkwardly.
I'm sorry to hear that they bunch in the back. We would gladly exchange them for a smaller size if they hadn't been worn/washed.
I read tons of reviews to ensure i choose the right size, since i bought during the sale and they don’t offer exchanges. I choose a 30, considering that i am normally an 8 and am 5’7”/155. The shorts fit nice, but are too big. They fit nice when i first put them on, but even with the stretch they start to sag through out the day. Disappointed, since they were still kind of pricey. I get not allowing returns, but they should still sallow exchange on unworn items. Meh.
These are the cutest shirts I've ever owned! I feel very confident in them, the fit is very nice, they seem pretty quality too! Would recommend them!
